Contraction Surgery
Overheard at the Contraction Surgery clinic, where second graders demonstrated their newfound understanding of contractions by donning medical garb and then operating on two words, suturing them with apostrophes:
“I need you to scrub in immediately for emergency surgery, doctor.”
“Why do the bandages look like apostrophes? Oh right, they are.”
“Dr. Evatt, we have a Code Blue!”
“You can handle the pressure, doctor.”
“You’re getting paid with a wealth of knowledge.”
