Overheard at the Contraction Surgery clinic, where second graders demonstrated their newfound understanding of contractions by donning medical garb and then operating on two words, suturing them with apostrophes:“I need you to scrub in immediately for emergency surgery, doctor.”“Why do the bandages look like apostrophes?
